Mat’s a highly experienced Wim Hof Method Instructor and Personal Trainer in Hove who’s personally spent time alongside Wim testing his limits in the cold and learning from the Master himself.
Mat has been practicing the method since 2017 and teaching across Sussex since 2020. Now, he's on a mission to empower people to better manage their health using these simple, proven, natural methods.
After experiencing burnout as a result of chronic stress back in 2017, Mat used the Wim Hof Method as a tool to help him recover and still uses it today to optimise his body and mind.
He believes all health starts with the mind. And when you have a clear and content mind, you make better decisions and are more likely to achieve your health and fitness goals, whatever they may be.

Who is the retreat suitable for?
This event is primarily designed for those who have some experience with cold therapy and want to deepen their practice without having to relearn all of the theory/science.
But we don’t want that to put off beginners as your instructor will still be guiding everyone through the breathing and ice bath.
However, if you haven’t yet been to a Wim Hof Method Fundamentals Workshop we recommend doing so in order to learn the theory and best practices. You can sign up to one of my upcoming dates here.
What to expect

2.00pm – Welcome
2.15pm – Guided Group WHM Breathwork
2.45pm – Restorative Stretch & Movement
3.30pm – Guided Ice Bath (optional)
4.00pm – Sauna & Cold Plunge
5.15pm – Campfire Dinner / Q&A with Mat
6.00pm - Goodbye’s
Food & Drink
Please provide your dietary preferences on the booking form.
Sweet snacks as well as hot & cold drinks will also be provided at different points throughout the day.
Preparation
For health and safety reasons, you will need to complete a health declaration form. This can be completed when booking your ticket.
We advise to eat light before the event. This is purely because the breathing exercises may be uncomfortable on a full stomach.
As always, a few cold showers leading up to the day can help if you don’t already practice cold therapy regularly.
